This is a breakdown of the major dates for the 2024 Youth and High School rugby. The precise league schedule of competition games won’t be published by Rugby AZ (the Youth/HS union) until late December 2023.
- Training normally begins in mid/late October 2023. Our practices are 6-8pm Tuesdays and Thursdays at xxx.
- Fall 7’s warm up 7’s tournament on three Saturday nights November 4, 11 and 18.
- The Youth league (U14/U12/U10/U8) regular season begins on Saturday January 13th, 2024 with 6 regular season games, semi finals on Saturday February 24th and the finals on Saturday March 9th.
- The High School teams (U19 and U16) season begins with a warm up scrimmages on Saturday January 13th and 20th with regular season games commencing from Saturday January 27th until Saturday April 6th. There will be 9 regular season games in that time period. Inserted in the season will be a visit from Snow Canyon from St George, UT usually on a Saturday in late January/early February.
- We play at the Utah High School Pre-season Invitational Tournament in St George, UT and this year it will be held on Friday and Saturday February 23rd and 24th (U19 and U16).
- The World Rugby International Sevens is played March 1st and 2nd, 2024 in Los Angeles, CA so league games are normally not scheduled that weekend.
- A state wide Spring Break bye is taken on March 23rd.
- Easter weekend of March 30th is also a bye.
- The state U19 semi finals (playoffs) and the U16 final are played on Saturday April 13th and the State Championship U19 finals are on Saturday April 20th.
- Usually in May the U19 team travel out of state to either a national tournament or playing top teams.
